Friday Evening Chill at Naked Winery – Friday Jan 28th.

We’ll be spinning Chill Show tunes at Naked Winery in downtown Hood River on Friday January 29th starting around 7pm.  Come out and enjoy some great music and wine with us.  If you’re coming from Portland there are some great hotels within walking distance.  Hood River Hotel, Hood River Inn, Oak Street Hotel, and if you want to go deeelux The Columbia Gorge Hotel.  Remember that Hood River is only 30 minutes from the Meadows parking lot so bring your ski gear!

5 year anniversary at the Gilt Club Saturday

Celebrate 5 years on 94/7fm with us this Saturday at the Gilt Club in Portland.  It’s an Open Deck night with our listeners spinning music.  Party starts at 7 pm and goes way late.  The Gilt Club is located at 306 NW Broadway.  We’ll have some swag and music to give away as well.  See you there!

The Presets “If I Know You” Download

We’ve been getting tons of requests for the Tania and Jori Hulkkonen version of The Presets track “If I know You”.  We’ve mentioned that XLR8R magazine has a free download of the track on their site.  You have to do a bit of digging in the site so here’s a link right to the article and download.  The remix/remake is available on the collectors’ edition of the single “If I Know You” (off 2008’s Apocalypso).

Thievery Corporation After Party

We’re hosting a Thievery Corp. after party at the Gilt Club on Monday night.  It’s easy walking distance from the Roseland Theater and we’ll be there spinning the area54 tunes immediately after the show. Come party with AREA54 and the band!  The Gilt Club is at 306 NW Broadway.

Sebastien Tellier “Kilometer” Video

Sebastien Tellier is coming to Doug Fir on April 15th. This is the video for the newest track from his latest album “Sexuality” He kind of looks like he came right out of the movie, Jesus Christ Superstar and from the setting and lighting in this video I think he still thinks it’s 1973. Entertaining video though and I hope his show will be the same. Maybe he’ll bring all the extra’s up on stage?

The Presets “If I Know You” Video

The Presets will be playing at the Hawthorne Theater on April 15th and later on that month at Coachella. Their second album’s been out for a while now and this is the final single. “If I Know You” is a sublimely beautiful track with a somber chord progression. If you like 80’s New Wave you’ll love this track. The song’s video clip follows a boy as he discards his shirt and dances his way through Los Angeles.

Royksopp “Happy Up Here” video

Check out the latest video for Royksopp’s new track “Happy up Here”. The new release is going to be called “Junior” and will be available in the US on March 24th.

Nacional Records and Area54 are offering you guys a free track off the new RH+ release “Quintana Roo”.  They let us decide which track to give away and Tim and I had a hard time narrowing down which one to post but we settled on El Elela.  It’s one of the mellower, chill tracks on the album which ranges from electro rock to dub and ambient.  Enjoy the free mp3 and check out the rest of the release.  It’s one of our favorites so far this year!

Area 54 New Year’s Eve Party

We’re throwing a big New Year’s Eve party in Hood River this year.

We’ll be playing some great music at Celilo Restaurant & bar starting at 10pm.  Tickets are $15 and we have limited tickets available so call 541-386-5710 to reserve yours.
